The Alliance recently released this information about the upcoming clean up day:

SHIP BOTTOM, N.J. – In honor of Earth Day, the Alliance for a Living Ocean (ALO), announces it’s 16th Annual Clean Up Event. Please join us this year on Saturday, April 18th from 10:00AM to 1:00PM to do your part in keeping our island clean and green now and for generations to come.

There are some shore traditions that are shared by many coastal communities. Seafood festivals, parades and fireworks are just a few things that come to mind. Then there are those unusual happenings that are unique to an area.

The LBI Unithon is definitely a unique event.
